Jordan scores for Villa in defeat to Luton Town

Jordan Ayew Jordan Ayew

Jordan Ayew was on target for Aston Villa on Wednesday night as they suffered an ignominious elimination from the League Cup at Luton Twon in a 3-1 defeat.

The Ghana striker opened the scoring for the Championship side on 13 minutes but Jake Gray leveled for the League Two outfit in the 35th minute.

In the second half, Cameron McGeehan put Luton ahead before the hour mark and midway through the half, Jores Okore diverted a low cross into his own net.

This result and team’s performance could push Ayew to hand in a transfer request as he remains on the wish list of some Premier League clubs including Swansea and West Brom.
