Jordan return not enough to prevent Villa from defeat

Ghana forward Jordan Ayew returned from suspension to play full throttle for Aston Villa as the Villans kowtowed to a 3-1 home loss against Everton at the Villa Park in the Premier League on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old was restored to the Villa line-up after serving a two-game ban for a silly sending off last month.

Villa were hoping to a positive results against Everton who had gone into the game with an impressive record against massive superiority over the Birmingham-based side.

Ramiro Funes Mori gave Everton the lead by meeting Kevin Mirallas' corner before Aaron Lennon's close-range finish doubled their lead.

Romelu Lukaku made it 3-0 before Rudy Gestede headed a consolation for Villa.

Villa boss Remi Garde has said he expects the former Olympique man to show class on his return but he could not find his rhythm as his side's relegation from the top-flight continues to crystallize with the weeks going by.
