Jonathan Mensah prays for injury free buildup to 2015 AFCON

Black Stars defender Jonathan Mensah is hopeful that the team will not suffer any more injuries ahead of the tournament.

The Black Stars were dealt a huge blow during the buildup to the World Cup following an injury to one of the team’s dependable defenders Jerry Akaminko, an action that ruled the former Heart of Lions man out of the Brazil tournament.

“Now after the draw we know are opponents and the start date. All we are praying for is an injury free buildup so that we can get the best of players for the national team ahead the tournament.”

Already the Stars have been hit by the absence of Kwadwo Asamoah who has been ruled out of the AFCON 2015 due to injury.

“The new coach has arrived and we are all looking forward to working with. But sometimes some of these things happen and its affects not only players but the technical team as well”, Jonathan Mensah told sportscrusader.com.
