Tema, June 14, GNA -- Two days after junior doctors announced they had called off of their strike, activities at the Tema General Hospital is still at a slow pace.
The first impression GNA got when it got to the hospital was a relaxed one as though the strike was still on.
This is due to the absence of nurses and other paramedics. Even though the Out Patients Department (OPD) was opened on Wednesday, only a skeleton staff was attending to a few patients. The main dispensary, laboratory as well as the accident and emergency unit of the hospital were closed.
Attempts made by GNA to find out how the hospital was coping with the situation proved futile as the administrator of the hospital refused to talk to the press with the reason that he is also on strike.
