John Boye staying put at Rennes

Contrary to rumours he is sought after by many clubs across
Europe, defender John Boye exclusively tells 90 MINUTES he has yet to receive
any offer and is concentrating on achieving more with Rennes for whom he made
19 league appearances last season.

The defender who describes the past season as the best of
his career thus far having also risen to cement a place in the national team,
remains focused on more improvement when he flies out of the country to Rennes’
pre-season camp by the end of this week.

“What I know is that I’m a Rennes player and I’m playing
there next season, only God knows if I will leave the club or not.

“Everything is okay for me at the club at the moment, I had
a great season so I’m just hoping to work harder to achieve more. This is the
time I have to work more to show to all and sundry that my fform is no fluke, I
have to aim high,” John Boye told us.

He added on his Ligue 1 club who finished 6th,
just outside the European qualifying places last term: “We did not qualify for
Europe, that the most painful thing but it gave us good lesson and we’ll go
into next season full of confidence.”Credit: Prince Dornu-Leiku
