Joetex doubt for Black Stars

Swiss-based striker Joetex Frimpong's joy of being invited to the Black Stars after a long lay-off has been short-lived.

Reports say the player is now faced with the difficult task of choosing between club and country.

Luzerne FC of Switzerland, the striker’s club, will be engaged in a play-off to ensure their survival at the top flight.

Luzerne FC has two crucial matches on 3rd and 6th June respectively to determine their fate.

The club’s coach Ralf Ringer, sources said, has the belief that Asamoah will lead the club to glory in these trying moments.

Coach Ringer has reportedly told the player in the face that he is not prepared to release him to Ghana for the World Cup qualifiers.

The Luzerne trainer intends disclosing his stance to Milovan Rajevac, Ghana’s coach, to see what could be done about the situation.

The source said Asamoah would confirm whether he would be available for the Ghana/Mali tie slated for June 6 this year by the close of Monday May 25.

Asamoah is part of the team invited by the Black Stars trainer Milovan Rajevac for the Ghana/Mali game.
