Portland, Oregon, Oct 3, GNA - Mr. Joe Aggrey, a Deputy Minister of Education, Youth and Sports (YES) said he was impressed with the performance of the Black Queens at their second appearance at the FIFA Women's World Cup in the United States of America. The minister who was with the team through out their stay at the tourney said the Queens performed satisfactorily well though they failed to go past the preliminary stage. "They played well and never disgraced themselves but I think they could have done better", Mr Aggrey said.

The Queens lost 0-1 to China, 0-3 to Russia and managed a face-saving 2-1 win over Australia in the final group D match last Sunday.

The Aggrey expressed the hope that with a little bit of push, the Queens should be able to perform better at the next World Cup. He told the GNA Sports before departing with the team back home that he was particularly impressed with the team's remarkable improvement from the one, which participated four years ago. "To me, the ladies played the best games but they just unlucky to have moved to the next stage", he said.
