Jerry Akaminko fired up for Orduspor

Turkey-based defender Jerry Akaminko is ready and up for the start of the 2010/11 season for and has pledged to help club side Orduspor to at least a top six finish and consequently promotion to the Turkish Super League.

“First of all, I thank God for taking me to Ghana for the holidays and also bringing me back safely. I also pray to have a smooth season with no difficulties or injuries that will prevent me from important games and opportunities,” Akaminko told Soccer Factsfile from his Turkey base.

The former Heart of Lions captain is in good spirits ahead of the commencement of the season, and the aim is to go a step better than last season when they just failed to make the promotion play-offs.

“As we continue with the pre-season training and preparing for the new season, its our dream and desire to have a good start and a great finish. We hope to earn a place in the top 6 and qualify straight to the Super League or the play-offs for qualification to the Super league,” he said.

Akaminko who is also praying that his performances in Turkey catch the attention of Black Stars selectors for a national team call-up, is eager to earn promotion with Orduspor.

“I can’t wait t see myself play in the Super League or play-offs because they are of a high standard and well organized,” he disclosed.
