Japan confirm Ghana, Guatemala for 2013 Kirin Challenge Cup

The Japan Football Association (JFA) has announced Ghana and Guatemala as participants for the 2013 Kirin Challenge Cup.

The tournament which was last organised in 2011 will be held in September 2013 in Japan.

According to the JFA, the Blue Samurai will play Los Chapines on September 6 before facing the Black Stars four days after in the round-robin game. The release did not state when Ghana will battle it out with Guatemala.

The games will be held at the Nagai Stadium in Osaka and the International Stadium at Yokohama.

Czech Republic and Peru were the last participants at the 2011 Challenge Cup.

The Kirin Cup is an annual friendly association football tournament organised in Japan by the Kirin Brewery Company, a major national team sponsor. It was founded in 1978 as an international club competition.
