Kumasi Asante Kotoko midfielder, Jackson Owusu’s mother, Madam Doris Abu has sent a passionate apology to the club on behalf of her son for the unfortunate long term injury that will keep him out action for 8-months.

Jackson, suffered a fracture of the tibia and fibula early Sunday morning while playing in a “Sunday Special” match. He was quickly rushed to the hospital where a surgery was performed the next day on his injured left foot and has since been planted after the operation in a Plaster of Paris (POP).

Madam Doris Abu admitted the son got it all wrong to have defied orders asking them (Kotoko players) to stay away from all football activities and just relax in readiness for the new league season with just a week to its commencement.

“I was very saddened by the news of his injury as he had informed me he was running some few errands at nearby town, Maakro. The zeal and enthusiasm with which he has been talking about the 2015/16 season got me more emotional after I was informed Jackson had broken his leg and won’t play a part in the new season,” she told Kumasi-based, Boss FM.

“We regret the incident and humbly apologise to the traditional owner of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and the management of the club and to please forgive my son (Jackson Owusu) for the unfortunate incident. We ask the fans and all lovers of football to please say a word of prayer for him each time they kneel to pray,” she added.
