Egyptian Club Ismaily has rejected an offer from Major League Soccer side Columbus Crew for Ghanaian striker Emmanuel Banahene. GhanaSportsOnline.com has revealed.

Crew had presented an offer to the Egyptian Club to secure the services of the 25-year-old who has scored five goals this season in the Egyptian Premier League.

The American Club had expressed interest in the former Ghana U17 attacker after he was recommended by fellow Ghanaian Harrison Afful.

Manager Gregg Berhalter was hoping to land a move for the Ghanaian international to replace Sierra Leonean star Kai Kamara who is set to leave the Club.

An offer of $4,000,000 according to report was rejected by Ismaily for the striker.

“He was actually linked with Columbus Crew, they actually presented an offer of $4,000,000 but Ismaily said they want something not less than $1,000,000,” a close source of the player told GhanaSportsOnline.com.

“They (Ismaily) are saying they have other offers for him (Banahene) so they won’t allow him to leave for that amount.”

Banahene has been dealt with series of injuries this season.
