Ishmael Addo admits Hearts has lost value in recent times

Former Accra Hearts of Oak goal poacher Ishmael Addo has paid glowing tribute to the club on its 103 birthday but admits they could have achieved more.

Addo was a key member of the club which won the 2000 CAF Champions League and Super Cup and also won the maiden edition of the Confederation Cup four years later.

Hearts have the look of the mid table team these days with management struggling to attract marque signings.

Addo admits Hearts are now “inferior” compared to the past.

“Hearts will always be part of our career for what we have achieved and all that,” the triple Ghana Premier League goal king told GHANASoccernet.com

“The year 2000 will forever be remembered as the crowning year and we could have gone on to do more even after that.

“There are challenges now which are expected in any big club but it’s beginning to take long to find solutions.

“Kotoko have done very well in recent times to catch up but I pray handlers are able to find lasting solutions to the problem.

“Any institution that gets to a 100 years plus is worth celebrating.”
