Ghana defender Samuel Inkoom made an impressive debut as he played 80 minutes for Boavista in their 1-1 drawn game against second tier Portuguese side Leixoes.

Inkoom was thrown into the thick of affairs from the onset and gave a good account of himself with accurate passing and good interceptions in the early part of the game.

The former Basel defender was the only surviving player in the second half for his side as the head coach Armando Texiera introduced ten new players to begin the second part of the game.

He was later pulled out in the 80th minute as the game wore on to be replaced by Luis Miguel Pinheiro Andrade.

Inkoom had a torrid period in the US with DC United and is looking to get his career back on track following a blistering that saw him win the FIFA U-20 world cup with Ghana and also represented the senior side for the world cup in 2010 and 2014 respectively.
