Injury Crisis?

Mensah trains but Vorsah sits out ahead of Aussies clash

From William Ezah, GNA Special Correspondent, Rustenburg, South Africa

Rustenburg, June 18, GNA - Black Stars Deputy Captain John Mensah trained but Defender Isaac Vorsah sat out of the Team's final training session ahead of Saturday's Group D clash with Australia. FIFA Official website had earlier reported that Mensah and Vorsah were having injury problems.

The Stars held their final training at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg, about two-hour drive from Pretoria with Vorsah conspicuously absent from the session.

The well-built Defender watched in despair as his colleagues went through the session that lasted almost 90 minutes under the instructions of Head Coach Milovan Rajevac.

Vorsah appeared casual and took comfort on the substitutes' bench while the rest of the playing body underwent their usual drills. Coach Milovan remained uncertain about the status and condition of Vorsah ahead of the clash with the Socceroos.

The Stars Trainer told a Press Conference that he is unsure of the participation of Vorsah in the must-win clash with the Australians. "I can't tell whether he will play a part in the Australia game or not. We have to wait till Saturday."

The TSG Hoffenheim Defender partnered Mensah at the heart of defence during the Stars lone goal victory over Serbia in their opening match at the South Africa 2010 FIFA World Cup.

The 21-year old has remained an integral part of the Black Stars since the Angola 2010 Orange Africa Cup of Nations.
