Iniesta inspires me, says Aboagye

Ghana Under-20 midfielder Clifford Aboagye has stated Spain international Andres Iniesta is a complete footballer he aspires to emulate.

Aboagye was adjudged the third best player at the 2013 Fifa Under-20 tournament in Turkey.

Aboagye, by far one of the diminutive performers on the pitch when the Black Satellites won bronze, said the Barcelona midfielder inspires him to give off his best in games.

“Iniesta is someone I admire so much and I watch him play,” the Udinese player told Goal Ghana. “He is a very good passer of the ball, very hardworking and got good technique in the game.”

“His style of play is just as my style of play. I try to learn from him and for me I see him as the world best player.”

Aboagye added: “Iniesta scoring for club side and that’s one thing I didn’t do in this tournament, so as a player going forward I want to work hard and score goals to get to his level.

“Iniesta is the standard against which I measure myself. He’s a total footballer in every sense.”
