‘I won’t be a bench-warmer at Kotoko’

Asante Kotoko’s new signing Ernest Sowah is confident he will become the first choice goalkeeper at the Porcupine Warriors come next season.

Sowah put pen to paper on Thursday to stay with the Fabulous Club for the next three years.

But the former Tema Youth and Berekum Chelsea safest pair of hands will be facing a stiff competition in the Kotoko goalkeeping department with the presence of Eric Ofori Antwi, Isaac Amoako, Joseph Addo and Felix Annan but Sowah thinks otherwise.

“I want to be active this season for me to get a Black Stars call up and so upon terminating my contract I told the whole world I was available to join any club.

“It was Kotoko who showed interest finally and I decided with my manager Oduro Sarfo to sign for Kotoko, so quickly we were invited to Kumasi to seal the deal.

“Despite the club having equally experienced goalies I am not perturbed because all will depend on the coach to choose and surely I will be the obvious choice,” he added.

Meanwhile, the deal is reported to be over $25,000 dollars.

Sowah was a member of the Black Stars squad that represented Ghana at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations which was played in Equatorial Guinea.
