I will welcome Ghana job, says Addo

Former German-born Ghanaian international Otto Addo has emphasised that he will not resist coaching any of the country’s national teams in future when the GFA comes calling.

The former Dortmund and Hamburg midfielder was appointed as the Under-19 coach of Hamburg last week after going through the ranks.

“I am happy at Hamburg currently, but Ghana is my country and I will never resist in future when they come calling for my service,” Addo told Kumasi-based Angel FM. “I have also coached some First Division teams and I hope to help Ghana one day.”

Goal Ghana broke the news last week that the former Ghana World Cup player has been appointed as the U19 senior coach of Die Rothosen.

Addo, 38, played for clubs such as Hanover, Dortmund, Mainz and Hamburg whilst he also featured for the Black Stars in their maiden World Cup appearance in Germany in 2006.

He made 15 appearances for the Black Stars scoring twice in a national team career mostly blighted by knee injuries.
