I’m very happy to reunite with Dmitri Payet – Dede Ayew

Ghana international, Andre Ayew, has expressed joy over his reunion with former Marseille teammate, Dmitri Payet after he completed a move to English Premier League side, West Ham United on a four-year deal worth £20.5 million.

Ayew joined Swansea City last summer as a free agent and had a blistering first season having scored 12 goals and providing two assists in 34 games in all competitions for the Welsh club.

Ayew told West Ham United’s official website that the Premier League still has not seen the best of Dimitri Payet just yet. “He’s a friend of mine as we played two or three years together at Marseille. I know him and he knows me and I’m happy to be back playing with a great player like him, because I know what he is capable of doing.”

“I know what he did last season and he can do even more, so now I’m back with him we’re going to work together with the whole team and do everything possible to make things right.”

Payet was one of the stand-out players for France at the just-ended Euro 2016 tourney and narrowly missed out on the PFA Player of the Year award to Riyadh Mahrez.
