I'm staying put insists Ofori-Quaye

Peter Ofori Quaye says he intends to play out the final year of his contract at Olympiakos, despite attempts by club owner Sokratis Kokalis to buy off his contract and make space for new foreign signings.

The 22-year old, who at 16 was hailed as the next George Oppon-Weah, was one of three players informed by coach Takis Lemonis that they were not in his plans.

The others, Liberian Zizi Roberts and defender Ilias Poursanidis, also insist on staying despite being told by the coach that they are surplus to requirements.

All three aim to impress at pre-season training, dismissing talk of loan moves to other Greek sides.

Ofori-Quaye's playing career has taken a nosedive since he joined Olympiakos from Kalamata 3-years ago. He managed only one goal and four appearances last season. Injury has also contributed to his troubles with the Greek club.
