“I feel fine and close to recovery now,” Hearts of Oak coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi has revealed to the club.

This follows rumours that the Japanese international had collapsed, a story the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the club, Opare Addo, dispelled, explaining that the coach had gone for a check-up after experiencing some backache.

“I am also happy for the messages and concerns for my health and I am even happier to let them know that I am very close to recovery and [will] return to coaching very soon,” Mr Yatsuhashi said.

He disclosed he would be on the bench next weekend when the Phobians take on Wa All Stars in the Ghana Premier League.

Mr Yatsuhashi also expressed delight in his side’s 3-0 win over Wassaman in the FA Cup over the weekend and commended his assistant, Yaw Preko, for steering the side to victory.

“I am very happy that the team won the game this weekend at the last round of the FA Cup. The contribution of Yaw Preko and Joe Addo: …I have been working with Yaw Preko since…and he is a very good coach and I had no doubt he was going to do well this past weekend and I knew Joe from his time in the United States, and youth contribution is very important for us and, also, even though I did not think Yaw Preko needed much help from Joe, Joe’s presence and assistance gave us strength,” he added.
