I'll beat you - Randy Abbey dares Grunsah

HAVING won their first Premiership match against Sekondi Hasaacas by two goals to nil at their 18,000 capacity Anane Boateng Stadium at Abramkese near Kuntanase, CEO of Kessben FC, Randy Abbey, has thrown down the gauntlet to the bankroller of King Faisal, Alhaji Karim Grunsah on the eligibility of Iddrisu Yahaya and Nana Akwasi Bobie Ansah. It will be recalled that the two former players of King Faisal were deemed ineligible to play for Kessben FC last Sunday by the Ghana Football Association until further notice.

This resulted from Alhaji's claim of improper transfer of the two players to Kessben FC saying, “We were on the verge of transferring Iddrisu Yahaya to Hearts only for him to pull out of the deal at the eleventh hour, but since he was still contracted to us, we expected Kessben FC at the negotiation table. But before we could say 'jack', the Player Status Committee had declared him “floating”. Kessben FC must therefore come for re-negotiation. In Bobie Ansah's case, the FIFA laws clearly backs us as though his contract had expired, he had not attained 23 years during the transfer and so we deserved a training and development fee,'' the thick-skinned Grunsah said.

But Randy, who stopped short of playing the two defenders against Hasaacas last Sunday, was his usual cocky self; “Tell Grunsah that his two former players will play against his team at Sunyani on Sunday and we won't pay an extra dime. Maybe he has to do some cross-checks because the only way he is entitled to training and development for Bobie's transfer is if he had offered the player a new contract two months before his contract expiration which wasn't the case”. Randy also debunked claims that Iddrisu Yahaya was also an ineligible commodity. “Has Grunsah forgotten that he accepted Iddi's 'floating status' and didn't appeal against it? What about the 30 million cedis he accepted as training and development which we've paid? Why then did they accept the training and development fee for the player if his contract hadn't expired” the eloquent Randy Abbey queried. Randy could even afford to blow raspberries by saying that it's as clear as broad daylight that the GFA would surely clear the two defenders before the two teams clash on Sunday. Meanwhile it has been confirmed that Kessben FC striker Ransford Osei will arrive from South-Africa this week and will be eligible for selection in Sunday's crucial encounter.
