I get disappointed when dropped from Black Stars – Accam

Newly signed Chicago Fire striker David Accam has revealed that he gets disappointed any time he does not make the cut for international assignments though he possesses unique qualities the Black Stars need.

But he says that is immediately put to rest since it is often a coach’s decision, which must be respected, he adds.

David Accam, 24, expressed these sentiments on TV3’s New Day on Monday, December 29 in an interview with Juliet Bawuah.

The former Helsingborg striker was part of Ghana’s 26-man provisional squad named by James Kwesi Appiah for the 2014 FIFA World Cup but was dropped a few days to the tournament. He responded immediately by scoring for his Swedish side in a friendly.

Accam has also been named in Avraham Grant’s provisional squad for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations as one of the five strikers.

“My pace and finishing is what I bring on board,” he said about himself but cautioned that the Black Stars must play as a team.

“For me, if you want to win games, you need to play as a team to jell.”
