Herbert Mensah: Kotoko is bigger than us all

Former Asante Kotoko CEO Herbert Mensah is optimistic the Porcupine Warriors would remain a formidable side, despite their internal crisis.

Kotoko are without a substantive CEO following the resignation of Dr KK Sarpong a few weeks ago, a development many feel would adversely affect the fortunes of the club.

The man who is well noted for bringing professionalism to the club in the late 90s is well convinced the club owner Otumfuo Osei Tutu II can resolve any impasse in the club.

“Kotoko is bigger than all of us and will also outlive all of us,” Mensah told Goal Ghana. “For those of us who are Kotoko supporters it will still be in our blood.”

“The turmoil that descends on our club periodically can only be resolved by Otumfuo and therefore it is important for people to be patient and let Nana impose his vision and direction.”

Mensah noted unity is key within the Kotoko fraternity ahead of next season.

He said: “I am sure Nana will resolve matters permanently sooner than later as pre-season training needs to be put in place, unity amongst players and confidence restored so the fans will return to the stadium.

“I am sure Nana has already contacted the person and people he has in mind for the task so people should not fear.”
