Accra Hearts of Oak and coach Herbert Addo have agreed to mutually part ways after a crucial meeting between the two parties on Tuesday.

The meeting was arranged on the back of an inconsistent campaign by the Phobians on the domestic front, especially in the Ghana Premier League.

Addo, prior to the meeting, was very unpopular among the fans as they consistently mounted pressure on the board to sack him.

The last straw that broke the camel’s back was the 2-1 defeat to Medeama SC in the semi-finals of the MTN FA Cup. The Phobians were hoping to use the FA Cup to atone for their terrible campaign in the 2014/2015 season.

They had earlier been beaten 2-1 at their own backyard by Sekondi Hasaacas in their last outing in the GPL. Hearts currently lie 12th on the log, just a point from the relegation zone.

Sources say the former Kotoko coach and the management have agreed on an amicable settlement which will see Addo pocketing three months salary.

Hearts of Oak will now be focused on finding a replacement, at least for the remainder of the season.

It is likely assistant coach Dauda Lutterodt will take charge of the team in this weekend’s GPL away match against Aduana Stars.

Addo, remains one of the highly successful coaches in Ghana, after a couple of stint with Hearts of Oak, Kotoko, Aduana Stars and AshantiGold among others.
