Hearts voted Africa's best club and 83rd in the world

Hearts of Oak are not surprisingly listed as the top-ranked club in African football, according to the latest rankings issued by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics in Germany. Last year's African Champions League winners are ranked 83rd in the world, one of two African clubs in the top 100 which is dominated by teams from Europe and South America.

The other African side in the top 100 is Egypt's Zamalek, in 93rd position. Both Hearts of Oak and Zamalek will represent Africa at the FIFA World Club Championships in Spain later this year. Egypt's Ismailia are ranked 110th while Africa Sports are tied in 116th position with Esperance of Tunisia.
