Hearts to appeal GFA ruling

Hearts of Oak have vowed to fight the Ghana FA Status Committee ruling ordering them to pay dismissed coach David Duncan 86,500 Ghana cedis (US$ 40,000).

The club have 14 days to make payment to the coach whose contract was terminated in early November last year.

Duncan’s representative argued his client’s contract was terminated illegally as per stated in the labour laws of Ghana and demanded more money in damages.

The Status Committee found the club guilty by not serving notice to the coach which was inserted in Duncan’s contract.

“The committee hasn’t been fair. They feel Hearts of Oak have money so that is why we decided to do away with Duncan, and so let’s punish them by ordering them to pay this money,” Hearts spokesperson Muheeb Saeed told Accra-based Happy FM.

“Our lawyers are looking at it and we will surely appeal the verdict in court.”
