Hearts returns from a week tour of Sudan

Accra, Feb. 25, GNA - A 24-man contingent of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club on Wednesday returned home from Sudan after embarking on a week's training tour of the East African country. The current League leaders played two friendly matches whilst on the tour against Sudanese side Al Hillal.

The first friendly match ended two all with Hearts scoring from Samuel Affum and Ekow Ghansah, however the Phobians lost the second game by a lone goal.

Sabahn Quaye - Team Manager of Accra Hearts of Oak to GNA Sports that the training tour was a successful one, because it has afforded most of the players the needed international exposure as well as kept them in a perfect condition for the resumption of the League. He said that the tour has also exposed the weaknesses of the team, which will be worked on by the technical bench in the course of the month-long break.

Quaye was optimistic that the team will play a much more improved game on resumption of the League on March 11, in order to keep their championship aspirations on course.

Hearts is expected to commence training on Saturday, under the instructions of coach Kosta Papic after his return of a two-day holiday in Serbia.
