Hearts reject new rule on dressing rooms

Accra, Aug 27, GNA-Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club Limited has categorically rejected the position of the Professional League Board (PLB) to use a balloting system for the allocation of dressing rooms to clubs in the premier league.

A statement issued and signed by Ashford Tettey-Oku Administrative Manager of Hearts, said the club will not abide by any illegal and improper imposition like balloting for dressing rooms.

According to the statement, though the club appreciates the reasons behind the decision, it is of the view that problems will be created than solved as the rules and regulations of the GFA on refusal to go to the dressing room, late kick offs, colours and inspection are clear and clubs which violate those provisions face penalties.

The statement said the practice whereby home and away teams are automatically allotted specific rooms, benches and technical areas is a universal convention.

"There is no where in the regulations of the GFA which talk about the use of balloting for dressing rooms and until such an amendment is made, Hearts will not succumb to that.

"If the PLB wants to adopt it as part of its rules and procedures it should use the right mechanism and have it adopted at congress procedure" the statement added.
