Hearts register four more for Champions League

Accra, June 15, GNA 96 After weeks of consultations, the technical team of Accra Hearts of Oak in conjunction with the management body has settled on the four players to be registered with the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) to complete the 30-man squad required for the African Champions League.

The four are; strikers Eric Gawu, Bawa Mohamed and Alfred Nii Larbi with Dan Coleman as the only defender.

With this the possible registration of Hamza Mohamed from the camp of Real Tamale United (RTU) has been ruled out since the two parties could not agree on a common ground over the release of the player. Mohamed, trained with Hearts recently with the aim of joining them but negotiations for his release fell on rocks.

A statement from the secretariat of Hearts, signed by Mr Ashford Tetteh, Administrative Manager said, both technical and financial considerations were exploited before settling on the four players, adding that the decision was in the best interest of the club. The statement explained that, Gawu=92s registration was based on article 26 (8) as the player though registered by King Faisal for the Confederations Cup did not feature for them before their elimination.
