Hearts pip Stars

CHAMPION club, Accra Hearts of Oak took the national team, Black Stars through a hectic 90 minutes in a friendly encounter, winning by a lone goal at the Accra Stadium yesterday.

The deadlock was broken in the 61st minute when Wisdom Abbey finished off a brilliant cross by Charles Allotey.

Until the goal, it was a balanced affair especially in the first half when the determined Stars led by the in-form Charles Taylor produced some inspiring play but found the Hearts defence impregnable.

The Stars, played without the foreign-based players that starred in last Sunday’s Nations Cup qualifying match against Rwanda at the same venue. The Stars won that match 4-2.
