Greater Accra Circles Chairman of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Emmanuel Boamah has revealed that Accra Hearts of Oak were very lucky not to have used their goalkeeper Samuel Akurugu in the post against Kumasi Asante Kotoko in their President Cup tie played at Accra Sports Stadium.

Soulama have been virtually kept on the bench after that nutmeg that resulted in a goal for Kotoko in their week ten fixtures in the Ghana Premier League.

It was a very difficult game in both the first and the second half but the skipper of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Amos Frimpong converted the last penalty to ensure that the Warriors lift this year’s President Cup. It was a difficult match in the first and second half but the Warriors managed to lift the trophy.

“It is very true that the home grounds of Accra Hearts of Oak is Accra here but we will continue hunt Hearts of Oak till the end of the season because we were all here when we lost to Hearts by four goals to nothing and they have been using that as an excuse just to keep their supporters calm but as I have said will continue to hunt them.” He told Asempa Sports

“Our under-20 team beat Hearts of Oak and their coach was sacked, they lost against us at their home grounds and they started accusing Soulama of taking from us but they were very lucky they did not used Samuel Akurugu in the post because we could have retire him as well if he was to be in the post.

He continued, “We are telling them to be careful because Accra Sports Stadium is gradually becoming our second home ground because after the match, the supporters of Hearts of Oak were stagnant at the stadium.

Quizzed if they have been doing something else before they play Hearts of Oak, he said, “We will never tell them how we manage to beat them because we are competing with them because we have different ways of approaching such matches and everybody knows that and I am not ready to reveal that.

“In the return match at Kumasi, we the Accra Circles will all move to Kumasi to support the club and I believe that we will hunt them again at the Kumasi Sports Stadium in the return match in the league.” He added.
