Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder, Thomas Abbey has been hospitalised at the Ridge Hospital in Accra.

He is expected to undergo rib operation at the hospital, according to Sportscrusader.com source.

Abbey missed Hearts’ last two Ghana premier league games through rib injury suffered in the goalless draw against Dwarfs in match week of the Ghana premier league.

The creative midfielder was elbowed in the rib by a Dwarfs defender during a tussle for the ball in the air and the creative player came out, worse as he was later diagnosed with a blood clots and needed surgery to aid his recovery.

The source also revealed Abbey had to be transferred from the emergency ward where he was admitted early this week to the Surgical Ward to hasten his treatment and recovery.
