The head coach position of glorious Accra Hearts of Oak is still vacant and there are competitions like the Ghana Premier League and MTN Knock Out there to play.

Accra Hearts of Oak did not fare badly under coach David Duncan who took the team from the 14th position to 5th in the last season, and has now placed them at second spot.

But for other things outside the field of play, he could not handle the great club for long, and had to be shown the exit by the directors of the club.

The vacancy in Hearts has been applied for by not less than 20 top coaches, but the directors and management are still searching for the most competent and with the temperament to handle the great club. One name that has crop up in the last week is that of World Cup winner in 1998, Marcel Desailly who once applied to coach the national team of Ghana, the Black Stars, but later expressed his no interest in the job because the GFA did not act professionally as he put it. Now Marcel Desailly is the man Hearts fans believe can continue from where Duncan left off. According to Uncle Roger Amankwah of Mamprobi, Desailly is Ghanaian who has seen it all in football. He said Marcel has played for top team like AC Milan and contributed to France winning the FIFA World Cup in 1998. He agreed that Desailly is a quality choice for a big club like Hearts.

Joe Solomon, another fan of the Phobian team said Marcel Desailly is the right man because he has a facility at the Lizy Sports Complex where Hearts can train, “But I believe his facility is not for free” he expessed.

Solomon hinted that Desailly has the experience and management acumen to handle Hearts.

Champion Gyamfi, another staunch Hearts supporter was of the view that Hearts is in a special class in African Football as former champions and one of the oldest clubs on the continent on Africa and such a club need an equally great coach like Marcel Desailly who has sent much football action in Europe and World Soccer. He said Marcel Desailly has got the qualities to coach Hearts and must be given the job as soon as possible. By
