Premier club, Accra Hearts of Oak has debunked rumours gaining currency in the media that the club is to sack 11 players at the end of the season.

Sections of the Ghanaian media have reported that the affected players would be sacked at the end of the season for their lack of effort.

However, the club’s official newspaper, the Hearts News reports that no such decision has been taken and asked the general public especially Accra Hearts of Oak fans to treat those reports with the contempt it deserves.

The management said any decision on transfers and new signings would be communicated to the fans through the trusted channels and asked fans to stay focused for the rest of the season.

These reports the paper said, are a calculated ploy by their detractors to destabilize the team going into the last three games of the season for them to take advantage of.

Accra Hearts of Oak it said, will not kowtow to such dictates to “cause confusion in our club” adding that the team is well focused for the task ahead.

The management has therefore asked the players mentioned in those reports to debunk the rumours and keep their concentration for the remaining three games of the season high.

Accra Hearts of Oak will play two home games against Ebusua Dwarfs in Accra on Sunday and Medeama SC next Wednesday before ending their campaign with a trip to Bekwai to confront New Edubiase United.

The Phobians are six points behind the leaders Wa All Stars and will need to win all of their remaining games to stand a chance of winning the title at the end of the season.
