Hearts declare "Operation Last Lap"

Accra, July 13, GNA - The Interim Management Committee (IMC) of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has declared their last match of the premiership against relegation bound Sporting Mirren as an "Operation Last Lap".

A statement issued and signed by Mr Ashford Tettey-Oku, Administrative Manager of Hearts said the Club has drawn useful lessons from the challenging and painful moments that have dogged the championship aspirations of the club recently, hence the declaration. It said the Club will be vigilant and eschew complacency, stay focused and run with a renewed vigour till the final whistle. The statement commended all genuine supporters across the length and breadth of the country whose concern and positive feedback reflected the good away result from Berekum last Sunday.

The IMC has therefore called on the supporters to throng the Ohene Djan Stadium, Accra on Sunday in their numbers to cheer the team to victory.

The statement said the Club has initiated moves towards getting the Premier League Board (PLB) to reduce the gate fees, adding that the outcome will be communicated to the supporters in due course.
