Hearts commends Greater Accra supporters

The management committee of Accra Hearts of Oak has congratulated the Greater Accra Regional Chapters Committee, the National Chapters Committee and thousands of Phobian fans who have rendered massive support to the club to ensure their unbeaten run so far in the premier league.

A statement signed by the Administrative Manager of the club, Mr Ashford Tettey Oku, particularly cited the tremendous support from the fans which helped secure important victories over Bofoakwa (2-0), Great Olympics (2-0), Okwawu United (1-0) and Power FC (1-0).

“Except for a few avoidable aberrations, we have for a along time, never seen such total, wonderful and purposeful support for our domestic matches since we routed Asante Kotoko 4-0 and the same Olympics 3-0 two years ago at the same venue,” it stressed. The statement indicated that the club will continue to count on their responsible, moral, spiritual and financial support to keep the team on course in the face of the underdogs tag put on them by the bookmakers for the 2002 premiership title.

The management urged, to nurture the spirit of playing to watch matches, be law-abiding and keep cheering even in difficult times to enable Hearts to keep the smiles on their faces. The statement also indicated a forty per cent rise in the gate fees for all home league matches of the club beginning from the 5th week, explaining that the aim is to sustain the revenue generation drive to reduce the huge budget deficit anticipated from financing all away matches.
