Hearts blame referees for poor run

A past management member of Accra Hearts of Oak Alhaji Akambi has blamed the club’s poor run on bad officiating.

The Phobians have recorded 29 points in 25 games, and according to Akambi, bad officiating accounted for the uninspiring results.

Although Hearts are in the relegation zone on the League log with five games remaining, he expressed optimism, saying the team would survive the Premiership.

To him, there was no way Hearts would slip to the lower division despite the challenges confronting the team.

He said in an interview that “Hearts will never go on relegation. Where we are on the table is not pleasant but there is no way Hearts will go on relegation, it’s not a big deal.

“Bad officiating has been our problem. We are where we are because of bad officiating,” he added on Asempa.

Alhaji Akambi cited the Hearts-Hasaacas game as a classical example to back his argument.

Meanwhile, Hearts will be the guests of Liberty Professionals, another relegation-threatened side in a midweek clash today at the Carl Reindolf Park in Dansoman.

In other games, Great Olympics will host Berekum Chelsea while WAFA travel to face Medeama SC.

Bechem United will host current leaders Ashgold, with Asante Kotoko welcoming Wa All Stars to the Baba Yara Stadium.

Inter Allies will travel to face New Edubiase while relegation-bound BA United travel to Kpando to battle Heart of Lions.

The Agyemang Badu Park will be the venue for the Aduana Stars-Hasaacas game.
