Hearts Management seeks to minimize waste and income leakages.

Accra, Dec 7, GNA 96 The newly appointed Management team of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club that has been mandated to run the Club till the end of the season has tasked itself with the responsibility of finding means to block all income leakages within the Club. Mr. Kurt E. S. Okraku, the new Communications and Marketing Director of the Club, who revealed this during the management team's inaugural media interaction on Thursday, said the measure is to ensure that the Club soon becomes self sustaining in the nearest future. The new management, given the mandate by the Board of Directors last week to run the Club till the end of the season, is headed by Thomas Okine who was previously in charge in an interim capacity. The Communications and Marketing Director explained that as a first step to addressing the problem, the Club is will soon complete the registration of its colours and logo.

=93After the registration, we will soon get tough with individuals who have been selling souvenirs and memorabilia of the Club. We will soon launch our own merchandizing drive to make out paraphernalia available to our loyal followers.

Outlining other objectives of the new team, Mr. Okraku said their aim is to help establish Hearts of Oak as the leading Club on the continent with sights firmly set on winning the 2008 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League.

He added that Management is considering relocating the training grounds of the Club with an ultra modern facility befitting the reputation of the team.

Mr. Okraku disclosed that Management will explore other sponsorship opportunities to generate funds for the uplifting of the Club to supplement the package of the current sole sponsors, Scancom Ghana Limited, operators of GSM network, Areeba. The other members of the management include Jophiel Nyemitei 96 in charge of Finance, Stephen Akwetey 96 Operations, Barima Atuahene 96 Ticketing and Security, Kofi Anokye Owusu 96 Darko and Maxwell Addo.
