Hearts Chapters Committee declare 'Operation Nine Points'

Kumasi, Aug 24, GNA 96 The Ashanti Regional Chapters Committee of Accra Hearts of Oak Football club has declared an 93Operation Nine Points=94 to chalk success as the Club enters the second round of this year's MTN/CAF Champions League.

They have therefore called on Management and Technical team of the Club to work on the psyche of the players as they clash against Orlando Pirates in the second round of their Group 91B' match at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.

Mr Gabriel Kwegyir Turkson, Deputy Secretary of the Ashanti Regional Chapters Committee (RCC) of Hearts who announced the declaration said the players need to be better conditioned to win Sunday's match and subsequent matches after they had performed abysmally in the first round.

The Deputy Secretary was expressing his concern with the GNA Sports in Kumasi on Thursday ahead of Hearts' crucial match against Orlando Pirates at the weekend.

Hearts will be seeking to record their first win in this year's competition on Sunday, after loosing two matches and drawing one match in the first round.

Mr Turkson said the declaration is to demonstrate the seriousness that the RCC attaches to the next three matches lined up in the second round and therefore entreated supporters of the Club to offer their contributions to enable the reclaim is lost glory.

Hearts who won the competition in 2000 lie at the bottom of Group =91B' on a point and are behind Orlando Pirates who are lying third on two points whiles Enyimba International FC of Nigeria and Asec Mimosas of Cote D'Ivoire are in the second and first positions in the group on four points and seven points respectively.
