Hearts' Board Chairman appeals to supporters to remain calm

Accra, Aug 29, GNA - Commodore-Mensah, Board Chairman of staggering Accra Hearts of Oak has called on followers of the Club to exercise restraint in the face of what he calls 91the temporal set back' in the MTN CAF Champions League.

He asked the supporters to calm down and rally behind the team in their quest to rediscover their winning magic.

The Phobians are chasing a win and a goal in five games 96 something that has demoralised the followers of the Club and ensured they stayed at the bottom of the four-team summit in the Champions League.

The Board Chairman in a message copied to the GNA Sports reckons the disappointments that come with such ill performance but underscored the importance of rising above the odds and rebuilding a formidable force that befits their status.

Commodore-Mensah said As a human institution, such temporal setbacks are to be expected but our collective abilities to rise up from the ashes and rebuild a formidable Club that will once again come back to our winning form is what would surely underscore our belief and understanding in the time-tested motto of Never Say Die=94. He assured the followers of the Board and Management's resolve to work tirelessly to set the wrong right.

The Chairman emphasised that 91the Oak tree is certainly shaken but not broken'.

The Phobians last Sunday lost their second consecutive home game in the Champions League in their duel against South African Orlando Pirates at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.

The team has claimed only a point in four games after defeats to Enyimba FC of Nigeria, Asec Mimosas of Cote D'Ivoire and adrawn game against the Pirates.

Hearts are surely effectively out of contention and would need decent results from their last two games against Asec and Enyimba for the sake of pride.

The Ghanaians qualified to the group stage for the first time this year after ruling the continent in the New Millennium. This year's results remain the former Confederations Cup champions worst in their participation in the competition.
