Hasaacas tame Lions in Sekondi

Hasaacas Hasaacas

Joseph Mugri's 14th minutes goal was all Sekondi Hasaacas needed to build up their points while they pinched the struggling fate of Heart of Lions towards relegation.

It was a cagey game on the field while anxiety also run through the stance of Sekondi stadium.

But Hasaacas scored on time before the game turned when Amos Korankye recovered his blocked free kick to set up Augustine Arhinful on the left wing, whose cross into the box had a first touch from Samuel Afful and finished off by Mugri for the match winner.

Goalkeeper Mozart Adjetey then stopped Arhinful twice from a direct free kick shot and a long ranger with good grabs to prevent conceding another goal.

Lions were dealt what looked like a big blow when their midfielder Revalero Arthur was sent off for his second bookable offense on Isaac Acheampong seven minutes to recess.

However the ten man Lions got better by the minutes and controlled the overall flow of the game and more so in the second half.

The Kpando side doubled their efforts to consolidate their numerical disadvantage so well to put the home team under pressure.

On one such dominant moment for Lions,Isaac Quansah went solo from his area with a long kick and raced with the ball to the penalty box and got down from Arhinful's slide tackle but referee Otis Oppong saw otherwise to allow play to continue.

Hasaacas nonetheless had the chances to double their lead and put the match to rest at latter minutes but fluffed them.

Substitute striker, Kojo had his connection to Afful's cut out pass blocked by goalie Mozart from close range and the followed up attempt shot wide by Ibrahim Sulemana.

The last opportunity missed by Poku was miserable when missed goal from eight yards as Afful found him again with a tee up.
