Hard Work Will Get Black Star's to WC

Hard Work Will Get Ghana’s Black Stars to the South Africa 2010 World Cup said Coach Sammy Adjei.

The former Skipper of the Barcelona U-20 and Obuasi Goldfields Supporting Club, has hailed the final qualifying round for the South Africa 2010 World Cup,last Wednesday's draw in Zurich where Ghana were paired with Benin,Mali and Sudan.

"There are no more push overs in the arena of soccer,so the Ghanaian's should not think that the Black Stars can qualify to the 2010 World Cup with a seweat and we should avoid complacency, done things in a professional manner,no favoritism and nepotism in the selection of the players, pay their bonus on time and should map out a perfect strategy to win all their matches " he noted.

Before you know it, 2010 will be here and the World Cup will be playing in South Africa. For the final qualification, Ghana is in a group with Benin, Mali and Sudan. The former skipper of Obuasi Goldfields Football Club, Coach Sammy Adjei cautioned Ghanaians and the Black Stars not to celebrate yet and continue to work hard for the final qualification to South Africa 2010 World Cup.

“Although the Black Stars are in a good position to qualify to the 2010 World Cup, the management has to put their house in order. They have to give the technical people a free hand to do their work and there should be no room for favoritism in the selection of the players and motivation to the players if this is done, then I do not see why the Nation's senior team cannot go to South Africa" Coach Adjei noted. He is currently a coach in Parsipany Gators of New Jersey ,who are 2ND on the league table of an on going Super Y league Competition in New Jersey. In an excursively interview with this freelance Journalist in New Jersey, last week end,he urged the Ghanaians to support the National Teams to win more honors for Ghana, even when the players finds the going tough and hard, because without your support and prays, the footballers can not do much and we stop criticizing the technical and the players and it that should be done,it must be done constructively so that it will not kill their spirit's.

Mr Adjei expressed the hope that the assumption of leadership by Mr. Herbert Kwabena Amponsah -Mensah, formerly CEO of Asante Kotoko of the affairs of Obuasi Goldfields F/C will restore that team to its former glory. He expressed shock and disapproval of the offer of $3,000 a month to the assistant Coach Kwasi Appiah of the Black Stars to coach the Black Stars when foreign coach is paid $40.000 a month. "That kind of attitude coupled with GFA not taking care of its retired players does not motivate anyone to give their best and i pray that they put an end to that kind of behavior and show some respect to the local coaches" he said.

Coach Adjei said that he does not plan to return to Ghana any time soon as his contract with the Gators has not ended and he is managing the career of his son, Sammy Adjei Jr., who is on the USA National Soccer team Under 15, but one day, the former Captain of the Meteors plans to coach any one of the National teams of Obuasi Goldfields Supporting Club.

I want to take my time to guide and help to groom my son into a matured player ,hopefully he don the colours of the National team.

"My son is a prolific striker, he is deadly on his both feet ,very Strong in the air , fears no team or defender in the,he is very humble, always plays according to the instructions from his coach and he is a hot cake in the USA Under 15 side" Packer as he is affectionately called.
