Hamza keen on Black Stars return

Romania-based midfielder Hamza Mohammed is still his current form with his club Cealhaul can help him gain a place in Ghana's squad for next month's African Cup of Nations.

The 27-year-old has not played for the Black Stars since the African Cup of Nations in Egypt last year.

Hamza, who was part of the Black Stars team that qualified for the World Cup two years ago, went to play in New Zealand before sealing the deal to Romania.

After picking up three successive most valuable player of the month award in Romania, is keen to return to the national team after a long absence.

"I have been part of this team since Somalia to Cape Verde but during the World Cup some of us were no longer part of the team," Hamza told Choice FM Sports.

"I think it was just because of the abysmal performance in Egypt which some of us did not have the chance to exhibit our talent over there. I think that was the main problem.

"We were thinking so far as some of us are playing well in our various leagues over here we are given another chance to try again.

"I wish the coach will cast his nest wider to monitor some of us over here and just give us the opportunity to come and justify and see.

Hamza is brimmed with confidence he can pass Leroy's test ahead of the Nations Cup list.

"I have no doubt that if they give me the opportunity I cannot secure a position in the team because they are my colleagues. From Ralf Zumdick to Ratomir Dujkovic that was the advantage I have in the team.

"They use me everywhere they want to put me so I don?t think it should be a problem. I am defensive midfielder and started as a lateral defender so I don't think it will be a problem. "

He has recently signed a personal sponsorship deal with Adidas.
