Gyan happy to have Kwarasey back

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan says goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey has been welcomed with open arms after he returned to international duty following a two year absence.

The Norway-based goalkeeper has been tipped to pull on the Ghana shirt for the first time since under controversial circumstances at the 2014 world cup amidst claims that Gyan and John Boye had questioned his ability to hold his defenders together and questions his local language skills.

Gyan has been keen to stay off the subject but he has no doubt there are no lingering problems from that episode.

He said:

“Maybe Kwarasey felt he had to say what he saw and said so I don’t think it should be a problem. He is still a great goalkeeper who is young and doing well at his club. We have been expecting him for a while now so I think it is right that he is finally here with us. We are happy to see Kwarasey because he is a great talent.”
