Gyan: I don't regret leaving Premier League

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has said he has no regrets leaving the prestigious English Premier League to join Al Ain in Asia.

The former Sunderland striker said he made the right decision to move to the United Arab Emirates since he is living a comfortable life whiles maintaining his form.

“I don't regret quitting the English Premier League at all,” Gyan, who spent two seasons at the Stadium of Light, told the media at his residence. “I am comfortable and happy there, and most importantly I deliver when I come to the Black Stars.”

The former Udinese forward graded himself high after having topped the goal chart in the Gulf Region on two successive occasions.

“My decision to move to the Arab world bordered on my family and what was good for me and not what people said or will say. Some people listen to friends in taking critical decisions and they mess up in the end. I scored 22 goals during my first season and improved to 31 in last season's league and that is a great mark,” the 27-year-old stated.

Gyan has since left Ghana to join Al Ain in pre-season preparations.
