Gyan Handed Wrexham Trials

Former Ghana defender Christian "Atta Rasta" Gyan has joined Welsh club Wrexham on trial for two weeks.

The 30-year-old, who is a free agent, is hoping to earn a contract with the Blue Square Premier club.

Wrexham coach said Gyan is unlikely to be signed this week but the defender has been included in the squad of players who are heading to play Basingstoke on Tuesday.

Gyan, who can play in midfield and in defence, recently completed a six-month spell in Finland with TPS Turku.

He is one of several trialists currently with the Dragons as Saunders considers how best to strengthen his squad during this month's transfer window.
