Gunners count on Ghanaian Youth for Success

By: Saint Joe Adu-Acheampong

Ghanaian youth winger, Abeiku Quansah is among players tipped by officials of
Ukrainian Premier League, Arsenal Kiev to help the club achieve success this season
after the former Liberty Professionals forward helped his side to grab a 3-0 victory
away from home against Chornomorets Odessa last week in his debut league game.
Quansah who lasted an hour on the field performed creditably as he executed his task
to perfection in their 3-0 away win.
“You know it is always good to be playing. I was replaced after 60 minutes. I was
very satisfied with the impact I made and I am very happy as well. I look forward to
playing more games” he is quoted to have said in a post-match interview.
Quansah, who joined the Ukraine side from Nice in France this summer, appears to
have won the heart of officials of the club especially the technical team as Kiev
head coach Leonid Kuchuk was quoted saying labeled him as the best young winger in
the world.
Alongside Samuel Inkoom, Daniel Addo and Derek Boateng all in the Ukrainian top
flight, Quansah is expected to enjoy more playing time with his new side, something
that eluded him while with the French side Nice.
The 2009 Fifa Under-20 World Cup winner missed last weekend’s league match due to
work permit.
Quansah joined the Gunner from French side Nice on a three year deal.
