Guinea, Namibia draw 1-1

Essipon(W/R) Jan. 28, GNA - Guinea and Namibia drew 1-1 in the last "Group A" match of 26th MTN Africa Cups of Nations played at Sekondi Sports Stadium at Essipon.

Guinea opened the score through Soumah Nabby in the 61st minute but Brendell Brian Guiltbert, the Namibia striker, determined not to allow Guinea to embarrass them, intercepted a loose Guinean pass from the middle and meandered his way through their defence to slot in the equaliser in the 80th minute.

The match started with lots of brilliant passes by Guinea, who dominated the entire play.

Guinean Bangoura Ismael and Youla Souleyamane and Sakho Mohammed formed the attacking machine of their team and pressurised their opponents but failed to score from the many chances that came their way. The combination of Guinean defence led by Camara Ibrahima and Goalkeeper Camara Kemoko, proved too tough for Namibia and thwarted all their attempts at goal.

Katupose Muna, a mid-fielder of Namibia, in the early minutes of the match wasted a clear chance.

The good defensive work by Toromba Hartman minimised the potency of the Guinea team and always cut them to size in the vital area. Goalkeeper Mbaha Attiel of Namibia was very busy throughout the night as Guinea kept pressurising them from all angles.

Benjamin Collins, a striker who had only the goalkeeper to beat just shot off target to dismay of the sparse spectators at the stadium. In a related development, Brendell Brian Guiltbert, of Namibia won the Fair play award while Sakho Mohhamed of Guinea was adjudged the MTN Man of the Match.
