Group A: Alloudi injury blow for Morocco

Morocco's hitman Soufiane Alloudi has been ruled out of his country's remaininng group A matches at the Nations Cup due to injury.

The Al-Ain prodigy suffered tendonitis in his knee in their opening Group A tie against Namibia after grabbing a hat-trick on Monday.

He scored a double in four minutes and a third before half time against the Brave Warriors, but was violently tackled by a frustrated defender after the interval and had to leave the pitch on a stretcher at the 63rd minute.

The Atlas Lions will have to find an alternative solution in attack in its decisive game against Guinea on Thursday, before playing the host country Ghana on Monday.

Morocco, which trashed Namibia 5-1 in their first game, tops Group A through a better goal average over Ghana, which bested Guinea 2-1 in the opening game of the 26th African Cup of Nations.
