Greta Olympics to undertake Corporate Restructuring

Accra, Sept 28, GNA - The Board of Directors of Accra Great Olympics has decided to revamp the ownership structure and other basic institutions of the Club through the flotation of shares under a Corporate Restructuring measure.

The Board has additionally directed that the restructuring exercise of the Club should take precedence over the processes of appointment of a new management team so that any appointments would be the responsibility of the new shareholder and the Board that will be accordingly formed.

Nii Amarkai Amarteifio, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Club in a statement copied to GNA Sports on Sunday said the Board took the decision in consultation of the Council of Patrons of the Club to undertake certain measures to address the inherent weaknesses within the Club's Structure.

He said the decision it is hoped would put a perpetual end to the ad-hoc manner in which the Club has been run over the years. Nii Amarteifio said the Corporate Restructuring exercise which is mandated by an Accra High Court is expected to be completed within two months and said in the interim the Board will take responsibility of the day-to day running of affairs of the Club.

The Club Chairman said in an effort to strengthen the technical base of the Club, the Board has taken steps to enable the current coach of the team, Eric Ofori Antwi embark on a six-week training attachment with Odense FC, a Danish Premier Division Club.

Nii Amarteifio on behalf of the Board has therefore appealed to all supporters of the 'Wonder Club' to bear with the Executive and management and 'exercise maximum restraint in these difficult times as steps are urgently being taken to rebuild the Club and to place it where it rightly belongs to in Ghana football". 28 Sept. 08
